Associates in Psychology & Therapy is joining forces with The Center for Pediatric Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health to provide quality care for children and adolescents as well as their families.
In 2008, after 18 years on faculty with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University Dr. Thomas Linz established The Center for Pediatric Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health.
The center's mission is to provide high quality care for children / adolescents and their families who are experiencing stress from a wide range of emotional and behavioral difficulties due to and contributing to life conditions. Also part of its mission is the diagnostic evaluation of and treatment of various neuropsychological concerns. As a result the Center not only provides diagnostic evaluations but also interventions including psychotherapy.
Dr. Linz, a graduate of the University of Georgia, received post-doctoral training at the Center for Development and Learning at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. He is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years experience serving the children and families of the tri-state area. His areas of expertise include pediatric neuropsychology, learning disorders, attention deficit diagnoses, mood and disruptive disorders. Dr. Linz has often been asked by physicians and schools to consult on diagnostic questions and treatment of various concerns. His psychotherapeutic approach often focuses on the interconnection between the problematic behaviors, the relationship between the child and parents, responsibility and respect.
Dr. Linz specializes in work with children between the ages of 6 and 18 years of age. Dr. Linz is experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide array of issues and disorders, including:

Dr. Linz also offers a variety of in-house workshops involving topics including: Parenting Issues, Effects of Mood Disorders in Children and Adolescents and "The course of child development: understanding the aliens among us."
Inpatient consultations at Cabell Huntington Hospital are also available to address issues related to long-term hospitalization or stress of living with chronic illness and its treatment.
